Vacancies: We are seeking two new Trustees

We are now seeking two new Trustees to join our board. If you have the skills to help us, and you share our commitment to solving poverty and trauma challenges in Scotland, we would love to hear from you.

We are delighted to begin our search for two new Trustees who bring experience in either of the following areas:

  • Finance/Responsible Investment acumen – the successful candidate will join the Investment Committee.
  • Senior Governance and collaborative leadership experience – the successful candidate will join our Governance, Nominations, Remuneration and Finance (GNRF) committee.

Across both appointments, the Trust is seeking individuals who will bring:

  • A strong commitment to the Trust's vision, mission and values, with a genuine passion for reducing poverty and trauma in Scotland.
  • Strategic judgement, intellectual curiosity and the ability to see the bigger picture, balancing risk, opportunity and long-term impact.
  • An inclusive, collaborative and low-ego approach, with the confidence to provide constructive challenge while building strong relationships across the Board, executive team and wider stakeholders.
  • A commitment to diversity of thought, creativity and continuous learning, bringing fresh perspectives and a willingness to consider new approaches.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to engage credibly across a wide range of audiences and sectors.
  • A demonstrable commitment to Equity, Diversity, Participation and Rights (EDPR), climate action and trauma-informed practice.
  • A willingness to act as an ambassador for the Trust and contribute beyond formal Board meetings where appropriate.
  • A strong understanding of Scotland's social, economic and public policy landscape; candidates based in Scotland are particularly encouraged.

We recognise we have the greatest chance of success if our Board and staff teams draw upon a wide range of expertise and knowledge. We want to enrich the range of skills we currently have on the Board by recruiting two new colleagues. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and types of life experience, to enrich the diversity of our thinking and decision-making, especially if you have a strong understanding of collaborative leadership across sectors in Scotland.

If you think your skills and experience can help us, and you share our commitment to build lasting solutions to poverty and trauma in Scotland, we look forward to hearing from you.
