Invitation to Tender: Evaluation of The Robertson Trust Scholarship

The Robertson Trust is commissioning an evaluation of our Scholarship programme.

The Robertson Trust is seeking an evaluation partner to undertake a three-year evaluation of our Scholarship programme, which supports students facing financial and other barriers to accessing and succeeding in higher education.

The contract, valued at £90,000 plus VAT, will run from January 2027 to December 2029 and has two key aims:

  • Provide an external evaluation of The Robertson Trust Scholarship programme as it currently operates, exploring its impact on reducing barriers to higher education and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Work alongside our Scholarship team to strengthen internal evaluation skills, tools and processes to support ongoing learning beyond the end of the evaluation contract.

The evaluation will examine the impact of the Scholarship’s financial and non-financial support offers across four student groups: young students, mature students, student parents and articulation students. We will use the findings to inform how we shape The Robertson Trust Scholarship support packages on an ongoing basis.

Particular focus will be placed on understanding what support makes the greatest difference and how learning can be used to influence wider policy and practice.
