£2,216,500 was awarded to 67 organisations in February 2024, with a success rate of 78%. If you would like to receive our award announcements directly to your inbox, please sign up to our mailing list.

Currently, our funding is aimed at constituted community groups and registered charities who are working to alleviate poverty and trauma in Scotland, and who have an annual income of under £2 million. We have four funds under our strategy: Wee Grants, Small Grants, Large Grants, and Community Vehicles. Each of these funds is designed to be clear, transparent and accessible to meet the needs of those we fund and potential applicants, and make sure our funding is targeted. If you would like to find out more about our funds, please click here.

Each of the organisations below demonstrated in their application how their work is contributing to the alleviation of poverty and trauma in Scotland.

We have awarded £18,966,205 to 601 organisations since the beginning of this financial year. View a full list of our awards here.

Award Focus - Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living (LCiL)

"Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living provides support and solutions to live an independent life for disabled people, people with long-term health conditions and older people across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

We do this by providing a range of support, advice and information services that are developed and managed by and for disabled people. Our services support Independent Living, empower person-led choice and support the right for disabled people to take control of their own lives.

We challenge the attitudes, the physical and social barriers that create disability.

From our work, we clearly see the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on the lives of disabled people, their families and carers. We are delighted to be awarded funding from the Robertson Trust which over the next three years, will enable our Disability Information Service to provide a focused response to this difficult financial climate by helping more disabled people who are struggling with day-to-day costs by offering accessible advice, information, and casework around welfare benefits, income maximisation and better financial security”. Gaby Nolan, LCiL CEO

Our team says... 'We know from research that disabled people are twice as likely to live in poverty and that the cost of living for disabled people is generally higher than for non-disabled people. Lothian Centre for Inclusive Living work is strongly aligned with our Financial Security theme - helping to mitigate these issues and inequalities by providing access to essential services and advice, as well as targeted support to reduce costs for those who are disabled. LCiL aims to support disabled people to live independently and have the same opportunities, freedom, choice, dignity and control as non-disabled people. We are pleased to be supporting their work for the next three years and we look forward to learning of their progress." Susan Lennartson, Funding Officer
