Head of People and Corporate Services appointed

We are pleased to announce William Brown's appointment as the new Head of People and Corporate Services of The Robertson Trust.

William joins the Trust on Thursday, 12 June. Speaking of the appointment, William said: “I'm honoured to be joining The Robertson Trust, an organisation whose values and purpose deeply resonate with my own. I believe that people are the driving force behind meaningful change, and I’m excited to be part of a culture where every colleague feels empowered, supported, and inspired to make a lasting difference. This is a unique opportunity to align people strategy with social impact — and I’m looking forward to contributing to the Trust’s vital work in tackling poverty and trauma across Scotland."

Our CEO, Jim McCormick, added: "I am delighted to welcome William to The Robertson Trust in the new role of Head of People and Corporate Services. William brings the expertise we need on People/HR, ICT and our Facilities in Glasgow and Stirling.

His appointment will ensure we build the firmest of foundations underpinning our next Delivery Plan. As well as bringing long-standing experience to these vital areas, William is deeply driven by our values of Ambition, Connection, Integrity, and will help to shape our new value of Equity. Biography

William is an accomplished Human Resources leader with over 20 years of strategic and operational experience across diverse sectors. William holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Management and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.

 

Known for his collaborative leadership and with substantial expertise in strategic human resource management, employee engagement, change management, and organisational development, William is passionate about building resilient teams and driving HR innovation.

Prior to joining The Robertson Trust he held senior HR leadership positions within the Health & Social Care, Higher Education and public sectors, where he led transformative initiatives that enhanced workforce capabilities and supported sustained organisational growth

William is also a Board Member for the International Association for Democracy, and has recently joined as a member of Edinburgh Napier University’s professional advisory group for the MSc Human Resource Management programme.
