£3.4M awarded to 92 organisations across Scotland in August and September

We are delighted to announce our latest funding recipients, with 92 organisations awarded £3.4M to support their work to prevent and reduce poverty and trauma across Scotland.

Please note that if you have an application in progress with us, we will notify you of the outcome of this via email.

As we are receiving increased numbers of applications, we have taken the decision to extend our published timescales for decisions to 10-12 weeks for applications received across all of our Funds. We plan to review this in the Autumn and aim at that point to return to our normal published turnaround times.

£3,456,500 was awarded to 92 organisations in August and September 2025, with a success rate of 63%.

Each of the organisations below demonstrated in their application how their work is contributing to the alleviation of poverty and trauma in Scotland.

Award in Focus - Moira Anderson Foundation

"The Moira Anderson Foundation is a place of safety for children and adults who have been affected by Childhood Sexual Abuse. We recognise that the impact of Childhood Sexual Abuse can be profound and long-lasting, often shaping a person’s sense of self, relationships, and wellbeing throughout their life. Our work aims to provide survivors a support service where they will be believed, feel safe and respected, and have choice and control over their recovery.

At the heart of our work are our trauma informed principles of safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment, which guide our work and aim to reduce the risk of re-traumatisation. By addressing the impacts of trauma within families through whole family support, we can make a significant positive impact on the healing and recovery journey of families. Recovery from trauma is possible, and we all have a role in lifting stigma and shame that surrounds Childhood Sexual Abuse.” Gillian Urquhart, Director of Moira Anderson Foundation

Our Funding team said... "Through our Nurturing Relationships theme, we want to help prevent poverty and address the impact of trauma within families - supporting recovery, strengthening relationships, and breaking cycles of intergenerational harm.

The Moira Anderson Foundation is a powerful example of this work in action. As an essential service for children and families, they provide vital support to help people heal, rebuild, and avoid the risks of poverty and re-traumatisation. We’re pleased to be able to support their work through our Large Grants and look forward to learning from their work as it progresses" Michael Smart, Funding Officer

The most common decline reason was that the applicant’s request was not clearly linked to reducing or preventing poverty and trauma for the people they support, in line with our funding themes and priorities. 81% of unsuccessful applications were declined for this reason. We are interested in supporting organisations whose work clearly addresses our funding themes (and priorities), which we detail within the applicant guidance for each of our Funds. For some more examples of the types of work we have supported recently, please see our latest awards here.

If you have any questions about applying for Our Funds, please contact us on 0141 353 4321 or funding@therobertsontrust.org.uk.
