We are pleased to announce we have appointed Dame Barbara Kelly to lead our Board of Directors.
Dame Barbara joined the Board of the Trust in 2002 and was previously the convenor of the Trust’s Giving Committee, which was responsible for awarding over £16 million to charitable projects last year.
Kenneth Ferguson, Director of The Robertson Trust said: "I am delighted to announce that Dame Barbara Kelly has been appointed as the new Chairman of The Robertson Trust. Dame Barbara is a strong advocate for social justice, fairness and choice and brings a wealth of experience to the Board."
Commenting on her appointment, Dame Barbara stated: "I am honoured to have been appointed Chairman of The Robertson Trust and to have the opportunity to continue the fantastic work that the three Robertson sisters began in 1961. All of the sisters’ work was underpinned by their values of honesty, integrity and the ability to help people in trouble and I am proud that these values remain at the heart of the Trust’s work today."
Dame Barbara has held a number of senior public appointments including Chairman of the Scottish Consumer Council, Equal Opportunities Commissioner for Scotland and as Chairman of the UK Architects Registration Board. An active partner in her family’s farming business, Dame Barbara has a strong business background and was a Founding Director of Scottish Enterprise, a Non-Executive Director of Clydesdale Bank Plc. and the Convenor of the Millennium Forest for Scotland Trust.
She replaces David Stevenson as Chairman, who will remain as a Director on the Board.
