All at The Robertson Trust would like to congratulate Robertson scholar, Lara Seymour, who recently won the Royal Pharmaceutical Society’s (RPS) Student of the Year award.
Lara, from Cumbernauld, is currently in the fourth year of her Pharmacy degree at Robert Gordon University and picked up the nationwide award at the RPS ceremony in Birmingham.
It is Lara’s second major award of the year, after she claimed Young Pharmacist of the Year at the Scottish Pharmacy Awards in September.
Upon winning the RPS award, Lara said: “I am absolutely thrilled to have won ‘Student of the Year’. It was a huge honour to even have been nominated and shortlisted for the award.
“The ceremony in Birmingham was fantastic and it was really inspiring to hear about the achievements of other individuals and teams who had also been nominated.”
Lara joined The Robertson Trust’s bursary scheme from Anniesland College in 2013 and was this year also selected to be a Sir Ian Good Leader, as a result of her exceptional leadership qualities.
The bursary scheme provides targeted financial support and mentoring for high achieving 18-25 year old undergraduates throughout university. Through a combination of outdoor and classroom learning, self-development and leadership awards and work experience and internship opportunities, Robertson Scholars graduate ready to meet the needs of the employment market.
