Our Stirling hub is coming

Please note that The Robertson Trust has published its new Giving Strategy. This sets out the priorities we will have when awarding funds through our open grants programme. The existing application form and guidelines can still be used until July 31st. In line with our existing procedures, we will aim to assess and present all applications received by this date to our September Board meeting. In the event that we are unable to do so, your application may be held until our November meeting. In such cases a member of staff will contact you and provide any assistance required to realign your application with the new Giving Strategy. Find out all you need to know here.

It’s been just over two years since we first announced plans for our new charity hub in Stirling and I’m delighted to say it’s been all systems go in recent months as we prepare for our opening later this year.

The buildings have been developed to offer high-quality office space, low cost meeting room hire and enjoyable work spaces for third sector organisations. Through our existing charity hub in Glasgow, which recently celebrated its sixth birthday, we have seen first-hand the benefits of creating a space like this for Scotland’s charities and social enterprises to work and grow together. Meanwhile, our investment in Stirling reflects the Trust's commitment to supporting Scotland’s vibrant third sector in ways that extend beyond traditional grant-making.

Following seven years working in the Trust's Social Impact team, I have recently gone back to my roots in events management by taking on the role of Venue Manager for the coming months. It's a position I'm very excited about and I would encourage anyone with any queries about meeting room hire or office rental to contact me directly. I am also happy to deal with any other questions you may have!

What to expect

The Barracks is situated beside Stirling train station and offers seven flexible and accessible meeting rooms. This includes the Robertson Conference Suite which can hold up to 200 people and we hope this will become a conference centre of national significance for the Third Sector. We anticipate these will be ready for external hire from October.

Meanwhile, I’m delighted to say that all of our office suites have now been taken, with the following organisations becoming the first to move in when the building opens in a few weeks time:
  • Aberlour Childcare Trust
  • Paths 4 All
  • Stirling Carers
  • Dyslexia Scotland
  • Enable
  • Barnardo’s Scotland
  • Stirling Voluntary Enterprise
  • Forth Environment Link
  • Stirling Heritage Trust
It’s sure to be exciting month and we’ll be sharing updates on our social channels along the way! You can also keep up-to-date on the recently launched Barracks website, which can be accessed at
