The 2-day residential course, delivered in partnership with the Outward Bound Trust, gives new scholars the opportunity to meet and get to know Robertson Trust staff, ambassadors and other scholars from their university and to learn more about the work of The Robertson Trust.
This year's courses take place at the Howtown Centre and Ullswater Centre and will see the scholars participate in a range of team building exercises, incuding rafting and hiking. Follow the hashtag #trtob17 for pictures and updates from the weekend.
“The most important thing for me was meeting new people that were in the same/similar situation to me. This will help me by having a network of people facing similar challenges who are all able to help each other. (As a side note to this, I am currently still in contact with every person in my group from the induction weekend).”
"The Outward Bound weekend was great! A good way to start university life! I learned new skills which will come in handy while at university and also made new friends. It was a challenging but also a rewarding experience. I feel I can face more challenge with confidence."
