Changing Lives Through Sport and Physical Activity - Invitation to Tender Information Session

Please note that The Robertson Trust has published its new Giving Strategy. This sets out the priorities we will have when awarding funds through our open grants programme. The existing application form and guidelines can still be used until July 31st. In line with our existing procedures, we will aim to assess and present all applications received by this date to our September Board meeting. In the event that we are unable to do so, your application may be held until our November meeting. In such cases a member of staff will contact you and provide any assistance required to realign your application with the new Giving Strategy. Find out all you need to know here.

sportscotland, Scottish Government, The Robertson Trust and Spirit of 2012 are working together to deliver a programme of support and funding which aims to support organisations to use sport and physical activity as a driver to achieve positive individual and community change as a core element of the existing World Class Sporting System.

Evidence shows that being active brings about positive changes beyond participation and can impact positively on the health and wellbeing of individuals, on their skills and learning, and on communities, ensuring a more inclusive and healthier nation. Evidence also shows that these positive changes are most likely to happen if organisations delivering sport and physical activity have a range of internal skills, capacity and a commitment to delivering wider social outcomes.

We are seeking to appoint relevant organisations and people to develop and deliver a range of learning and support across a number of key areas. The key audiences for this work will be the sporting sector workforce who have a role in supporting delivery organisations, and the delivery organisations themselves. The aims is to facilitate increased knowledge, skills, capacity and resources for these delivery organisations to operate effectively and deliver impactful services in their communities.

Examples of the areas covered within the tender include:

  • Effective leadership
  • Governance
  • Strategic and business planning
  • Resource management.

In order to provide further information on the tender opportunity, we have organised an information session to inform prospective tendering organisations and to provide an opportunity for organisations considering tendering to network with each other. The information session will take place on Tuesday 26th June 2018 from 10am to 11.30am at Stirling Court Hotel (registration from 09.30am), University of Stirling campus. Please note that parking onsite is free for those attending meetings at the hotel.

The session will provide background information on the Changing Lives Through Sport and Physical Activity Programme, and overview of the Invitation to Tender, a presentation on Partnership for Procurement, Q&A Session and an opportunity to network with other prospective organisations. The Invitation to Tender will be launched on the same day.  Please note that should insufficient providers registering for the event be too low to justify the event we reserve the right to cancel and information will be provided digitally.
