Offenders and their families
In 2005 The Robertson Trust undertook research to identify areas of work with offenders, particularly those with substance misuse problems where there is an opportunity to make a difference with support from the Trust. Two key areas were identified: firstly young offenders and secondly work with families of offenders.
Since 2005 the Trust has provided over £2m of support to over 25 charities working in this field in Scotland. External evaluation has been commissioned for many of these initiatives and the Trust is working hard to enable the good practice to be identified and shared with practitioners and policy makers across Scotland the the UK.
