moving on young offenders.JPGYoung Offenders

The Trust's flagship project supporting young offenders is the Moving on Renfrewshire Project. This project was developed by the Trust in partnership with Action for Children, Fairbridge, Prince's Trust, Youth Link, Scottish Prison Service, Renfrewshire Council and North Strathclyde Community Justice Authority, to improve the long-term outcomes for young male offenders leaving Polmont Young Offenders Institution.

The external evaluation (see Publications) for the end of the first year shows that 88% of young men who signed up to the project in Polmont were still engaging with the project in the community on a consistent basis and that 69% of these young men have not returned to custody

The Trust has donated a total of £830,000 to charities working in this area.
