Women Offenders
Circle Scotland has recently published the independent evaluation (see Publications section) for the first year of this work, which supports women with addiction issues and their families “through the gate” and into the community for as long as required. The project has so far supported 36 women who have returned to the community. 80% of women who engaged with the project worker in the prison have continued to engage meaningfully in the community, none of whom have returned to custody.
A total of £275,000 has been donated by The Robertson Trust to charities working with women offenders.
