Sport & Social Enterprise

The Trust has traditionally provided capital donations to a number of excellent community based sports clubs, operating as social enterprises, where a significant proportion of their income is earned from self-generated income.  Examples include Atlantis Leisure in Oban, Spartans in Edinburgh, Broxburn United in West Lothian and Transition Extreme Sports in Aberdeen.

The capital donations have been strengthened with additional revenue donations to enable these enterprises to develop stronger links with their local communities and initiate new income generating activities.

More recently the Trust has provided a revenue donation to Senscot to enable them to establish a Social Enterprise and Sport Network to enable individual enterprises to share good practice and develop their own facilities for the benefit of the local community.
