Girls on the Move

“Girls on the Move” was established in 2005 as a new funding programme designed to increase the physical activity levels of girls and young women in Scotland.  The programme was designed to address the barriers which prevent girls and young women from participating in physical activity.  The programme was funded at a level of £150,000 a year until March 2008 by The Robertson Trust and the Scottish Executive’s Health Improvement budget.  The programme has two strands:  Participation and Leadership.

In April 2007, Youth Scotland took over the administration of the “Girls on the Move” programme.  Further information on the opportunities and awards available through Girls on the Move can be found on www.girlsonthemove.org.uk

The University of Stirling has been commissioned to monitor and evaluate the impact of this programme.  These reports are available from the Publications section of this website.
