Additional Support

Please note that The Robertson Trust has published its new Giving Strategy. This sets out the priorities we will have when awarding funds through our open grants programme. The existing application form and guidelines can still be used until July 31st. In line with our existing procedures, we will aim to assess and present all applications received by this date to our September Board meeting. In the event that we are unable to do so, your application may be held until our November meeting. In such cases a member of staff will contact you and provide any assistance required to realign your application with the new Giving Strategy. Find out all you need to know here.

We recognise that there are some issues which cannot be addressed solely by providing funding to charities.

As a result we offer a broader programme of support to many of our funded organisations, using both internal and external expertise and resources.  We often refer to this as “Funder Plus”. The aim of this is to improve capacity of third sector organisations, enabling them to increase and improve support for those people using their services.  Supporting the organisations we fund is an area which we believe is of great value to the sector and we are committed to increasing our resources.

Our current funder plus activities are free to grant holders and currently delivered in the form of workshops, events and 1:2:1 support in the following areas:

Organisational Development:

Supporting organisations to develop aspects of their internal operations including governance, finance and business planning.

Support is currently provided by The Cranfield Trust and Community Enterprise Scotland

Monitoring and Evaluation

Supporting organisations to think about their impact and improve their ability to evidence the difference their work is making, through their evaluation practice.

Support is currently provided by Evaluation Support Scotland
